In the table overview, the data can be extensively edited in each application. Essentially, the processing of the lists is identical for all applications, but there are specific features for some applications.

Easy troubleshooting

Troubleshooting is very easy. Warnings are marked with a yellow triangle. In contrast to errors – marking a red circle with a white cross – they do not necessarily have to be corrected.

Highlighting of warnings in the tab and column

Hervorhebung von Warnungen in der Zeile

Highlighting warnings in the row

Errors in a column are indicated directly in the header of that column by an icon – a red circle with an exclamation mark in it. So there is no need to laboriously search through all columns, but error-prone or missing entries are immediately visible at a glance. This is especially useful when working on projects with large spreadsheets.

In addition, faulty cells or rows in which necessary information is missing are colored bright red. Lines with warnings, on the other hand, are colored light yellow.

Marking of errors (tab, column, row, tooltip)

Helpful tooltips

When you hover over the column header, a tooltip displays the erroneous cells with the corresponding numbering. The same applies to the cells in which information is still missing.

Nummer der Zeile (oder Zeilen), die einen Fehler enthält

Number of the row (or rows) that contains an error

When moving the mouse pointer over the fields marked as incorrect, the user receives information about which information is required.

If the mouse pointer is moved over a row in which incorrect or missing information is contained, a tooltip indicates in which cells of this row entries or corrections are necessary.

Hinweise zur Fehlerkorrektur als Tooltip

Notes on Error Correction as Tooltips

If all errors have been eliminated in a row, this line is displayed in white.

Copy & Paste

Copy & paste works throughout the tables. By clicking on the line numbering, the line is highlighted. Ctrl+C copies the content to the clipboard and can then be pasted into an Excel spreadsheet by Ctrl+V. If fields are not filled in in the row, they are copied as blanks in the Excel spreadsheet.

Kopieren einer Zeile mit Strg+C

Copy a line with Ctrl+C

Einfügen einer Zeile mit Strg+V

Inserting a line with Ctrl+V

In this way, you can also copy the values of multiple rows or all rows into an Excel spreadsheet.

Einfügen von Zeilen durch Kopieren aus Excel

Paste rows by copying from Excel

The opposite direction - importing data from an Excel spreadsheet - also works, of course.

The lines inserted by copy and paste are written to the database immediately after the pasting process. In this very short period of time, this content is not editable.

Easy Editing of Cells

Cells can be edited simply by clicking on the cell. If the cell content is in text format, text-based information can be added to the existing label. This means that the existing value or marking is not deleted, but supplemented. This is practical, among other things, because, for example, many codes are the same and only differ in the last digits.

However, when changing numerical information, such as the length specification, the old value is replaced by the new one, i.e. overwritten, because this is more in line with user habits.

Useful key commands and menus

Common key assignments are also implemented in the applications of the HOMAG apps. Press F2 to edit the selected cell. If the new value has not yet been confirmed by pressing the Enter key, it can be reset to its original value by pressing the ESC key.

Some columns, such as Grain, have a drop-down menu to select the parameters. In the other columns with drop-down menu, parameters can be selected, such as category or coating.

Auswahl von Werten aus einem Dropdown-Menü

Selecting values from a drop-down menu

Automatische Vervollständigung bei der Eingabe des Materials

Autocomplete when entering material

In the Additional Data tab in the Edit dialog , additional notes and files can be stored.

Hinterlegen von Zusatzdaten

Storage of additional data

If several cells in a column are to be assigned an identical value, the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+D can be used. This gives all previously selected cells the value of the top cell.

Zuweisen identischer Werte an mehrere Zellen mit Strg+D

Assign identical values to multiple cells with Ctrl+D

With the help of the Tab key, the contents of the cell above it can be transferred to an empty cell.

Kopieren des Inhalts der darüberliegenden Zelle in eine leere Zelle durch Verwendung der Taste Tab

Copy the contents of the cell above to a blank cell by using the Tab key

Right-clicking on a cell opens a dialog pop-up in which the new value for the cell can be entered. This also applies to multiple, previously selected cells. If a different value is entered for the top selected cell, it is automatically applied to the other selected cells.

Zuweisen identischer Werte an mehrere Zellen über das Kontextmenü

Assign Identical Values to Multiple Cells from Context Menu

If a new label is entered in a cell, it is immediately available as a suggestion in the drop-down menu in the other cells in the same column.

With the Delete key , selected cells can be easily deleted.

Several selected lines can also be deleted using the delete key .

Add and edit columns

In general, additional columns can be added to the standard view. For example, an additional column is defined in the productionManager with Additional data , in which graphical representations of the product, material, packaging and other additional information can be displayed and downloaded by double-clicking on the corresponding thumbnail.

Hinzufügen und Bearbeiten von Spalten

Add and edit columns

Calendar information is also possible. By clicking on fields in the columns of type Date , a calendar field appears as a pop-up, from which the corresponding dates can be easily selected.

Auswahl eines Datums aus dem Kalender

Selecting a date from the calendar

When adding new columns, it is also possible to automatically assign values to the cells that cannot be changed by the user in the list view. These values can also be copied to an Excel spreadsheet, but they cannot be changed there either.

Tip for power users: The tables can be edited almost without a mouse using only the keyboard.
