Report parts as finished

There are various ways to report parts, assemblies or articles as finished. A ready message in productionAssist can be made by manual input, scan input or automatically by a connected machine.

Manual entry is made using the keyboard and mouse in the web app or by touch on a tablet or touchscreen. Manual scan input is carried out by a connected scanner.

A connected machine automatically sends a completion message to productionAssist via the HOMAG File Agent.

On the start screen of productionAssist, all workstations that are available are shown. Select the workstation in which you want to work.

In a feedback workstation (productionAssist Feedback), the parts, assemblies and articles that are to be processed are displayed.

You can find out how to add and set up a new workstation in the Configuration section. To get information on how to purchase a license, see the Licensing section.

Various options are available for a ready message of a part, assembly or item in the worklist for a confirmation workstation.

If a scanner is connected, simply scan the QR or barcode on the part label. If no scanner is connected, clicking on Report as finished (1). That opens the tablet's camera or the input dialog in the web app and you can scan or enter the QR or barcode on the part label.

Alternatively, you can finish reporting individual parts by clicking on the Report as finished icon (2). Or you can select several parts and then click on Report selected as finished (3) in the top right-hand corner.

You can also report all parts in the worklist as complete at once by clicking on Report all as finished (4). To do this, we recommend filtering the desired order name before (5).

Tip: Use a scanner to work efficiently! We have listed supported and tested scanners here: Recommended hardware

After you have selected one, several or all parts manually by clicking or by scanner, a confirmation dialog opens. This dialog indicates that the ready message has already been successful (1) and whether further actions are possible. This page closes automatically after 60 seconds.

Tip: By scanning the QR or barcode on the label of the next part to be finished, you confirm the next part (2). You can easily report parts ready one after the other by scanning the QR or barcodes one after the other.

For parts with a quantity > 1, the desired quantity can be increased by clicking (1). If you are using a scanner, you can alternatively scan the desired quantity.

Tip: If you want to report several parts with a quantity > 1 without wanting to select the maximum quantity for each part, you can use the Report total quantities button (2).

Tip: Even if you do not use a label for the assemblies or items, the app will find the parent item when scanning a part label. Predefined filters describes how to configure the workstation so that only assemblies or items are displayed.

Ready message of additional parts

The application allows you to report additional parts as finished. This can be helpful in the event of overproduction or for rework parts. Additional parts are parts that are reported as finished again, even though a ready message has already been made at a workstation or in the workstation group. In this case, a warning appears and the notification of completion must be confirmed.

Ready message of unexpected parts

The app allows you to report unexpected parts as finished. This can be helpful if, for example, the planned production route cannot be adhered to due to a breakdown. Unexpected parts are parts that were not planned for a workstation and are therefore not listed in the worklist. In this case, a warning message appears and the completion message must be confirmed.

Error messages

If a part ID was not found or a part has not yet been released for production, an error message appears. A part that has not been released cannot be reported as finished.
