Creating a template

Prev Next

In panel optimization, the individual components are usually arranged arbitrarily in the raw board, e.g. to achieve minimal waste. However, if you want to consciously hold components together, intelliDivide offers the possibility to cut the parts in a predefined arrangement with so-called templates .

Template templates are available in intelliDivide for assignment. In addition, you can create your own individual cutting templates. The stencil selection and the assignment of the components within the stencil are done in the BOM in intelliDivide.

Example of custom stencils

Note: This feature is currently only available for intelliDivide cutting, not for nesting.

Example 1: Continuous veneer pattern

Diese Schablone wird für den Zuschnitt benötigt.

Example 2: Overlapping fronts

This is how you create a new, individual cutting template.

Creating an individual cutting template

NOTES:

  • The template is only created as a schematic without concrete dimensions. The exact dimensions will be determined later by assigning the components in the bill of materials.

  • A template must always be described in full. Gaps are not allowed, because intelliDivide always checks the completeness of the template. This means that in this example, the gap is also defined as a part and must later be described in the BOM as a component with a dimension.

  • The template editor is based on a table with columns and rows. The numbering of the components within the template is derived from this table:

    • the first digit describes the column

    • the second digit describes the line

Step-by-step instructions in screenshots

You can see how to create new templates here in descriptive screenshots – it's easy step by step.

Schritt 1: Menüpunkt "Schablonen" anwählen (1) und Button "Schablone hinzufügen" (2) anklicken.

Step 1: Select the menu item "Stencils" (1) and click the button "Add stencil" (2).

Step 2: In the stencil editor, a name for the stencil must first be assigned.

Step 3: By clicking on the "+" button, a new part will be inserted into the template (1). The trash can symbol (2) deletes the component again.

Step 4: Each inserted part can be resized to the desired size by dragging the page margins.

Step 5: The component can be moved to any position using drag and drop.

Step 6: The open compartment in the middle must also be specified as a component.

Schritt 7: Alles richtig? Dann die Schablone zum Abschluss speichern.

Step 7: Is everything correct? Then save the template to finish.

Schritt 8: Die neue Schablone steht nun zur Verfügung.

Step 8: The new template is now available.

Step 9: A template can also be edited, copied or deleted via the submenu.
