In the materialManager area, you have the option of creating material groups for various optimization parameters, such as residual quantities, and specifying corresponding parameters.
This function is available to you depending on the license . It is included in the licenses of intelliDivide Cutting Advanced, intelliDivide Cutting Premium, and intelliDivide Nesting Advanced.
Material-dependent groups allow, for example, the definition of different minimum residual sizes depending on the material properties. In the case of very cheap material, the formation of residues can be dispensed with, as the administrative effort is in poor proportion to the material value. In the case of very expensive material, on the other hand, the formation of very small residues can be deposited, as the additional effort is worthwhile here.
In order for the settings to take effect, this function must be activated in intelliDivide for the respective machine.
Creation of a material group
On the overview page, you can use the "Edit" button to adjust existing material groups or add new ones.
The "default material group" is always present. If a material does not belong to a "specific material group", it is automatically assigned to it.

Material-Dependent Optimization Parameters

A material group can be added in edit mode.
You can give a material group a name that will later appear in intelliDivide, and specify the properties that a material must meet in order to belong to that group.

Set name and add properties
Selection rules can be defined for each material group. For example, you can create a group for expensive materials that cost more than €30 to allow for small leftovers.

Define a selection rule for the material group
In the edit mode on the overview page, the parameters for the leftovers of a group can be adjusted, whereby a distinction can be made between normal leftovers and large leftovers.

Adjust residual sizes for "Expensive Materials".

In the case of expensive materials, it makes sense to allow small residues as well.
Any number of properties or selection rules for a material group can be defined via "+And" and "+Or". For example, the Annotations field or the material code can be used to create a special order group.

Set additional selection rules.
Disabling the Leftovers option specifies that no leftovers are created for this material group.

Specify that no leftovers should be created for the material group.
A material can only belong to one material group.
If a material meets the criteria of several groups, it will be assigned to the group furthest down , so it is a good idea to create the groups from more general to more specific.
The order of the groups can be adjusted via drag and drop. The order in which a material is assigned to a group changes accordingly.

The order of the material groups can be adjusted by dragging and dropping.

If a material meets the criteria of one group and the criteria of a group below, a notice is displayed.
Before the adjustments become active, they must be confirmed. Only then do they take effect in intelliDivide.

Once the adjustments have been confirmed, they will take effect.
Material groups behave dynamically. When a new material is created in the materialManager or the properties of a material are changed, it is automatically assigned to a group according to the specified criteria.
