Exchange of a HOMAG CUBE

The process of exchanging a HOMAG CUBE is the same for materialAssist and for productionAssist Sorting. When exchanging a HOMAG CUBE for productionAssist Cutting, Nesting or Feedback, you can simply skip the steps for configuring the LED strips and storage locations.

Please follow the instructions below to exchange your HOMAG CUBE. Through "Confirm & continue" you save your changes and get to the next configuration step.

Step 1: starting the configuration

Open the configuration of the respective workstation through the gear wheel. Click on "Confirm & continue", until you get to the configuration step for the HOMAG CUBE.

Step 2: adding the new HOMAG CUBE

The new HOMAG CUBE can be added by scanning the label on the back. This can be done with a tablet or with a connected Bluetooth scanner. Please note that this process may take a few minutes.

As soon as the HOMAG CUBE has been added successfully, select it from the overview.

It is important not to delete the old HOMAG CUBE yet for the following steps.

Step 3: configuration of the printer

In the next step, select the printer assigned to the new HOMAG CUBE and confirm your selection.

Before using the printer, it must be configured. First select the label size (1) and calibrate (2) the printer afterwards. The print can be verified by outputting a test label (3). If necessary, the alignment can be modified by adjusting the spacing (4).

Step 4: configuration of the LED strips

Next, integrate the LED strips connected to your new HOMAG CUBE. You can easily add each one by clicking on "Add LED strip".

To properly set up a new LED strip, apply the settings of the old strip which it is going to replace. Begin by selecting the LED strip which belongs to the respective LED box of the new HOMAG CUBE (1). If necessary, adjust the side of the connection (right or left) (2) and set the correct number of LEDs (3).  Finally, confirm your settings.

Repeat the procedure until there is a corresponding new counerpart for each old LED strip.

Step 5: configuration of storage locations

To transfer the materials which have already been stored at existing storage locations in materialAssist or productionAssist and to avoid data loss, simply adjust the existing storage locations. To do so, use the pencil icon in the row of the respective workstation to start editing.

Simply select the LED strip of your new HOMAG CUBE and confirm your settings.

Repeat this process for all storage locations. As soon as all are configured, proceed to the next step.

Step 6: deletion of the old HOMAG CUBE and the old LED strips

In the final step, remove your old HOMAG CUBE and the associated LED strips. Navigate to the configuration steps "LED strips" and "HOMAG CUBE" by clicking on "Back". Delete the devices by using the trash icon in the corresponding row. Please note, that this deletion cannot be undone.
