Importing data

Prev Next

In intelliDivide there are two basic types of lists, the parts or BOMs and the material or plate lists. There is another difference between the parts lists for saws (intelliDivide Cutting) and CNC machines (intelliDivide Nesting).

Usually, the parts lists are created from an ERP or CAD system and then have to be imported into intelliDivide. Depending on whether it is a saw or a CNC machine, the files to be imported will differ.

You start configuring the import with the import of the first BOM.

Starten des Imports

Start the import

Basically, the formats csv, pnx, xlsx, xls and ptx can be imported. The maximum file size of a file can be up to 50 MB.

Import of parts lists for intelliDivide Cutting

For the first import, you have to create an import template (this is also required for intelliDivide Nesting ) and perform a data assignment , because the systems used by the users are heterogeneous. The assignment of the data elements is a one-time assignment, after which intelliDivide remembers the assignment once created.

You will also be supported by intelliDivide in assigning or creating the import template.

Anpassung der Import-Vorlage

Customization of the import template

intelliDivide already recognizes many facts automatically during import. In this case, for example, that it is an Excel file with the file extension xlsx and the encoding is in Unicode (UTF-8) format.

Under Name you can choose any name. If the import function has detected the file type incorrectly, the type can be changed to CSV or PTX in the drop-down field.  The fonts can also be switched under Format , e.g. in ISO code, ASCII or in a Japanese or Chinese font.

You can choose in which line the import should start (possible specifications are 1 to 15). This choice is important for customers whose system outputs the BOMs with additional information at the top of the list that is not needed to calculate the optimization solution.

The  Contains Headings confirmation  uses the first row of the table to be imported as the headings. If intelliDivide does not recognize them automatically or in the correct order, please add this using the respective drop-down fields.

Zuordnung der Spalten der importierten Datei zu Eigenschaften von Teilen

Mapping the columns of the imported file to parts properties

After each mapping is made, a preview of the column is displayed.

Zuordnung aller relevanten Spalten

Assignment of all relevant columns

Once the mapping is complete, the configuration can be saved by clicking Confirm .

A preview of the first few lines is then displayed.

Import Vorschau

Import Preview

If necessary, the template can be edited again.

Bearbeiten der Import Vorlage

Editing the Import Template

If the display meets your expectations, the content can be transferred by clicking on Import .

Importierte Stückliste

Imported BOM

The name of the imported file is taken as the optimization name.

The HOMAG File Agent can also be used for an automated import.

Import of parts lists for intelliDivide nesting

The configuration of the import for nesting is similar to the procedure for cutting.

Starten des Imports

Start the import

Using the MPR(X) + Listen Import button, you can import several MPR(X) files for your optimization task in one operation, as well as control files, for example in pnx format. These contain production instructions for the corresponding MPR(X) files of an optimization task, such as quantity, material, rotation angle and grain.

In the file selection dialog, select all files to be imported at the same time. The easiest way to do this is to use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+A.

It is also possible to import a ZIP file containing these files.

File Selection

intelliDivide automatically detects relationships between the control file and the naming of the MPR(X) files.

In the example, the MPR(X) files are named according to the description (1).

Zuordnung der MPR(X)-Dateien

Mapping MPR(X) files

Assign the Program Name property to the detected relationship %Description%.mpr (2).

You can check the order in the preview. After confirmation, the part information and the programs are transferred to the parts list.

Importierte Programme in der Teileliste

Imported Programs in Parts List

The import configuration is only necessary once. In the next step, the preview is displayed directly for the transfer.

Import of individual MPR(X) files

You can use the MPR(X) Import button to import single or multiple MPR(X) files for your optimization task in one go.

Starten des Imports

Start the import

In the file selection dialog, select all files to be imported at the same time. The easiest way to do this is to use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+A.

Auswahl der MPR(X)-Dateien

Selection of MPR(X) files

The selected programs are transferred directly to the parts list.

The material and, if necessary, the number of parts must then be adjusted.
