Various details and additional information can be stored for each plate type. By clicking on the row of a panel type, you will be taken to the following view.

A field is only displayed if information is available.

Plattentyp

Plate Type

By clicking on the "Edit" icon (1) in the detail view or at the end of the line of a disk type, you will be taken to the dialog for editing it. Here you can add or correct information on details, materials management or additional data.

Material groups

Several similar plate types can be combined into a group using the material code. These are interchangeable with each other and usually only differ in terms of length, width and, if applicable, the manufacturer.

Feature

Example

Description

Material code

MDF_Brilliantgelb_19.0

Reference for accessing the material in other applications (e.g. intelliDivide)

Category

Medium density fibreboard (MDF)

Category for identifying the machining parameters (e.g. tooth feed)

Coating

Melamine

Important information for the machining parameters (e.g. saw blade protrusion)

Thickness (mm)

Density (kg/m³)

Grain

The material code is used as a reference in many applications (e.g. intelliDivide, productionManager). It is therefore often structured according to the scheme {category}_{décor name}_{thickness} or {category}_{décor code}_{thickness}. When you add a plate from the catalog, the material code is automatically suggested and can be changed afterwards.

Tip: When creating the material code, do not use special characters (\ $ & @ < > " ' ; # % * ? ,). Otherwise, problems can arise, especially when exchanging data with other programs based on a CSV file.

The disk code is often structured according to the scheme {MaterialCode}-{Length}-{Width}. A plate code cannot be assigned twice.

Tip: In our sample data in the "Importing Material Types" section, you will find an Excel file in the zip folder in which a formula for the automatic calculation of the plate code is stored.

The dimensions of the standard formats are often abbreviated.

Half Format

2800mm x 2070mm

HF

Full-frame

5600mm x 2070mm

Remnants are usually preceded by an "X" in the disk code. As a rule, a separate plate code is assigned for each remainder, as the dimensions differ.

The unit for the dimensions as well as the currency can be adjusted in the configuration .

The grain of the slab determines the direction in which the parts can be placed in the slab for the cutting plan optimization.

The costs are used in the optimization software intelliDivide when calculating the cutting plans. For high-quality material, solutions with low waste are preferred. When it comes to low-cost materials, the focus is on production speed.

If cutting templates are used in intelliDivide, they are marked with a preceding "T" in the materialManager.

The manufacturer's information can be used to order the material. The storage of the data is optional.

Materials Management

If you maintain the panel inventory with materialAssist Boards, you can define a minimum stock for panel types under the "Materials Management" tab. If this is not reached, a warning is displayed in the materialManager (orange triangle with exclamation mark). You also have the option of exporting a list of all disk types that have been below the minimum stock .

Below that, you can make settings for using the plate type for crop optimization in intelliDivide. If the "Optimize to infinity" option is selected for this disk type, intelliDivide does not take into account the actual number of disks available during optimization. If you do not want to include this plate type in an optimization, you can activate the option "Disk type blocked for optimization".

Additional data

Under the "Additional data" tab, you can store additional properties for the disk type.

Examples of annotations:
Surface scratch-sensitive, ordered for Commission Müller, matching edge band: 046.1297. ABS Edge Gladstone Oak Sand Wood Pore

The image is displayed in many applications and on machines. The display allows a quick comparison of the order with the available material. This prevents confusion between materials.

The "Notes" field provides the operator with a hint when processing the material. The field can also be used for further editing information.

Tip: When searching in the application, the field is also taken into account.

In addition, other documents (e.g. technical data sheets) can be stored in the app as additional information.

If the disk type was added via the catalog, all documents and images provided by the manufacturer can be viewed in the Additional Data tab.
