Purchase and add-ons
For a stand-alone HOMAG saw (i.e. without connection to a STORETEQ area storage system or feeder), you have the option of purchasing the storage bin management option for manual offcuts together with your HOMAG saw. This gives you the basic functionality to manage your manual offcuts on the saw and to set them up using these instructions. As a rule, no additional training is required.
If you have connected your saw to a STORETEQ area storage system or the STORETEQ F-100 feeder (with at least woodStore 8), you have the option of automatic storage bin management for panels and offcuts. This option includes the functionality of the simple storage bin management for manual offcuts, but also has additional (expert) functions, e.g. for managing cantilever racks and external storage management for complete panels.
The scanner package is not absolutely necessary, but recommended if you often want to use manual offcuts outside of the cutting process on your connected HOMAG saw. With this scanner package you receive an industrial hand scanner and a signal light, which is connected to the offcut management accordingly. With the scanner, manual offcuts can be booked out quickly and easily by simply scanning them. The availability of an offcut is also signaled. This avoids chaos and misunderstandings that may arise due to insufficient “booking out discipline” (see also Working with offcuts).
If you are working with the Cut Rite optimization software, the Cut Rite module “Storage bin management” is required for a seamless link to the desired offcut management option.
Modernizations for offcut management
Existing machines with at least CADmatic 4.1 and at least Windows7 can usually be modernized for the management of offcuts.
Here you can choose between the two levels of functionality described:
- Storage bin management for manual offcuts
- Storage bin management for panels and offcuts (extended range of functions incl. additional training)
It is also possible to upgrade from the simple storage bin management for manual offcuts to the extended storage bin management for panels and offcuts.
Note: If you later connect to a STORETEQ storage system and the associated complete woodStore storage management system, the storage system database and other parameters of the offcut management system you have been using up to that point will remain unchanged.
