SAW export format
In intelliDivide, you can make adjustions to the SAW files generated by the optimization. To begin, first open the settings in intelliDivide. Then go to the "Export" tab, where you can use the pencil icon to adjust the export format settings for the SAW files.
Depending on your CADmatic, you can select the required option in the "Character encoding" field.
CADmatic 4 and 5
Both CADmatic 4 and CADmatic 5 support the default and recommended character encoding "Unicode (UTF-8)". Additionally shortening the file name to 8 characters is not necessary.
CADmatic 3
For CADmatic 3, you need to adjust the character encoding. It supports the "ANSI (Windows-1252)" (1) file format. If no umlauts are used, you can also choose the "US-ASCII" character encoding. For CADmatic 3 you must additionally enable the "Shortening of the file name to 8 characters" (2) option. This allows you to create cutting plans for older machines in intelliDivide, for which an update to a more recent CADmatic is not possible.
