Tips & Tricks

Setting up a offcut rack (physical)

  1. Define the shelves with the maximum panel size that will be cut on the saw.
  2. Define smaller shelf widths for storing sagging material.
  3. When defining the shelf width, make sure that you take into account the “air for scrolling” (in width and height) → set the shelf width in the software smaller than is physically available, as the software will continue to place offcuts in a shelf until the specified width is fully utilized).
  4. Labeling the compartments on the rack with the compartment numbers simplifies the daily work of finding the compartment.

Adjusting the offcut rack in the software

If a small red lock is displayed as a symbol at the beginning of the row in the editing window, the compartments cannot be edited.

The reason: there is already data on offcuts in these compartments. These must first be deleted so that the size of the compartments can be edited, for example.

Storage bin selection: automatic vs. manual

We recommend the Automatic allocation option. Automatic allocation takes into account how full a compartment already is. If you select a compartment manually, you must first check whether the offcuts still fit in.
