Can the materials also be transferred from an ERP system into the apps?
Materials can be directly copied and pasted from a list or easily imported using the import function.

Is it possible to customize the label layout?
It is possible to have HOMAG create an individual layout for you. This service is charged at cost in accordance with HOMAG guidelines. Please contact your Service Company for this.
What information is printed on the label?
In our example, you can see the information with which we provide each label for the edge coils.
Can I use one label printer for multiple applications/racks?
In principle, a printer can also be assigned to another app (=assistance app) or an additional shelf at the same time. This can be set in the configuration dialogue ( gear wheel at the workstation in the app). Please note, however, that the apps sometimes use different label formats.
Where can I get more label rolls?
You can easily reorder the label rolls via our eShop.
Alternatively, you can also obtain the labels from other sources. Please note the corresponding requirements.
Can the set be expanded?
The set includes two LED strips with 2.5 m length. A third LED strip can be purchased as an option. The materialAssist app also offers the option of creating racks without LED strips. For example, you can store the multi-runner edges, which every employee recognises immediately, in such racks. There is a second option if you only use a certain rack for storing particularly sensitive material. You then only attach the QR code with the compartment designation and can then store the material there via scan or direct selection in the tablet. Another option is to use a second set. The second set can be configured so that it is addressed by the app together with the existing shelf as "one rack".
Can I also integrate pallet spaces and other remote shelving?
Yes, that is possible. The materialAssist app offers the option of creating compartments without LED support.
You then only attach the QR code with the compartment designation and create the spaces in the configuration. You can subsequently store material there using a scan or direct selection in the tablet.
I would like to create my own rack name. Is that possible?
Yes, this is possible. Please use our instructions and the attached templates.
Can I also create a rack area in the app without LED support?
Yes, that is possible. The materialAssist app offers the option of creating compartments without LED light support. You then just attach the QR code with the compartment designation and create the spaces in the configuration. You can then also store material there by scanning or direct selection in the tablet.
Can I use my existing shelf and add LED strips?
Yes, that is possible. Please note that the LED strips have a predefined length. However, unlit areas can still be created and managed in the app without any problems. Here you will find the installation dimensions of the components.
How long are the cables to the LED strips? Are there extension cables?
The extension cables of the LED strips are 2.5 m long. You can also add another cable of 2.5 m. The XLR extension cables are available in the HOMAG eShop.
In which lengths are the LED strips available? What is the maximum number of LED strips I can connect?
The LED strips are available in the following lengths:
The Edgeband Management Set includes two 2.50 m strips.
A maximum of 3 LED strips can be connected to one LED control box.
Can I expand the shelf with LEDs? Can I also equip a large warehouse with LEDs?
Currently, you can connect a LED control box with a maximum of 3 LED strips to a HOMAG CUBE. You can add another rack with HOMAG CUBE, which is then handled by the app as "one shelf". An extension without a second HOMAG CUBE is currently in development.
Can a scan of the label/order forms at the edgebanding machine indicate the storage location of the edgebanding material?
Yes, that is possible. If an edge code is scanned with the tablet or with the bluetooth scanner connected to the tablet, all available rolls are displayed. The edge code must be printed on the component label or the order sheets as a 1D/2D code. When the code is scanned, the app searches for the material and activates the LED bars of the corresponding rack.
Are the frequently pictured edge boxes part of the set?
No. The boxes are not necessary for working with the edge rack. They represent an optional added value, as the edges can additionally be stored in the box protected from dirt, damage and UV radiation. The edge boxes are currently not available.
Is it possible to report the consumption of edging material directly from the machine into the app?
No, this function is currently in development. With the current solution, you are very flexible in its use. You can simply continue to use your processing programmes on the machine as previously. You then enter the consumption directly into the app when you put the edgeband back on the rack. Alternatively, you can have the remaining length calculated automatically by measuring the outer and inner diameter of the roll. Thus, the edge management can be used for any type of machine.
